My friend E sent us Velibataire.com (in French), a website for meeting one special person, or a group, for a bike ride in or around Paris.
It reminds me a bit of historical dating schemes, where young women were safe on bicycles without chaperones and thus able to better meet young men.
Of course, back then they didn’t have a Facebook page!
The New York Times reports that bicycling is good for women in their 30s and 40s.
They do cite a Harvard Nurses’ Health Study, so this isn’t merely a summary of the obvious, there was actual research involved.
“bicycling is highly beneficial in women” – Amen!
Riding Pretty wanted photos of bikes on a boat.
While I don’t think this is what she meant, I do think they look like they’re on their way to summer fun.
It’s a painting in a window of a South End boutique, the wheels on that adult tricycle look out of true, but that’s part of its charm!

I loved the pop of her red shoes and lights in the simple green and black. If she were my friend I would urge her to raise the height of her saddle, but I don’t know her so I’m just glad she’s out on her bike and looking so good.

No doubt that this entire vintage bicycle is pretty cool. However, the rear reflector was unlike any I’d ever seen before.

those are red glass beads held there, which reflect when illuminated by a flash or a car’s headlights. How classic is that?
I don’t know if any of you follow Garance Doré but today she reports on the Moncler show, which appears to have featured both track bikes and also a lineup of more townie-styled bikes. Read the English write-up.
Despite the friendliness in general, Baja Mexico is not the friendliest place for cyclists. On the shoulder-free highway, one white knuckle bus ride has forced me to give up my hopes (for now) of cycling from Tijuana to Cabo San Lucas. However, we did spot this beautiful lady transporting her packages on a bike perfect for Todos Santos.
I’m currently on vacation in a tiny corner of the world, but I found a chic cyclist even here! When I get back to Boston I’ll have a small treat to share.
