I have to agree, I’m glad they are being made by a small, local bikebuilder, who appreciates the design.

That fork design brings back great memories for me. I designed the welding jig that aligned the loose parts so they could be welded.

Josh, well, yes. If FCC were still around it would definitely be a copy. Since they’re not I thought the cheerful upbeat approach was merited. At least they’re being made!

“Aesthetic Nod”? That’s a polite way to say copy.

I think Geekhouse Bikes even named it the “Yo Marty” after the original FCC name “Yo Eddie”, so I think they understand the provenance of the design.

I’ve been confused about the bike commuter benefit, isn’t it theoretically automatic? I commute and I’d like the benefit, but I’ve been averse to asking for anything, given certain employment realities.

It’s True! Emily Thibodeau (aka E-Pain, E-Train, E-Money) volunteered as a mechanic on a 7 day/550 cycling event for the American Diabetes Assoc. and truly impressed all my participants. After a long day of rollers, climbs, and road grit – they’d ask for her specifically!
